"Conservatives aren't motivated to come out"

http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/news_theswamp/2006/10/what_does_karl__1.html#more

<snip>

The Washington Times, the same paper that had yesterday's story about a confident Rove telling Times journalists during a visit that Republicans will hold both chambers of Congress, has another story (registration required) this morning that says conservatives are so turned off by Republican leadership, many will skip voting this year.

According to the story by Ralph Z. Hallow:

"The message hasn't gotten across because a lot of people are sick and tired of thinking the only reason for going to the polls is to vote for the Republicans because they are lesser of two evils," said Tom McClusky, vice president for government affairs at the Family Research Council (FRC), a leading social conservative group.

"Conservatives aren't motivated to come out, is what I'm finding," said conservative campaign consultant Rick Shaftan, who is based in Sparta, N.J. "They see no reason to re-elect the people who are in office."

A top Republican pollster confidentially echoed those sentiments.

"There are very definitely trouble signs in many states of what we call the 'LRs' -- the lethargic Republicans," said the pollster, who agreed to speak on the condition of anonymity. "They are unhappy with the president and have little love lost for Congress."

3. Even still...
All of us Dems need to get out there and vote. In my area 60% of the Repugs go to vote and 40% of Dems. It is time to change that. Get out and vote. Just because the Repugs aren't going to vote is no excuse for us to stay home. That is what they want us to do!

5. I disagree. They're motivated not to vote because of disgust in
and with their party. Seems a more likely scenario to me.
Good, stay home!

6. Gee, the party that hates government doesn't know how to govern?
Knock me over with a feather. But their supporters are finally finding out that slogans, sound bites and clever backdrops are no substitute for the hard work of governance? Gee, that's just too, too bad.

I hope the lot of them, politicians, pollsters, lobbyists, sycophants and other societal leeches are out of jobs on November 8.

9. This looks like a Rove 'Shuck & Jive" to me
Rove gets the MSM spread a story about the republicans not voting to make the Democrats think they have the election in the bag. Mean while the talk radio crew is giving instructions to the conservative masses to go vote anyway. Rove wants the Democrats to be complacent and NOT go vote while the repugs turn out in larger that predicted numbers.

Rove is dirt, and would concoct any lie to win an election.
