Not Just Poppy's Crony. James Baker serves the Bush Regime
Edited on Thu Oct-19-06 01:17 PM by Solly Mack
Baker's never been too far away from the Bush Regime. Either in front of or behind the scenes, directly or indirectly through business deals – Baker has been right there for the Bush Family and the current Bush Regime.

Sloppy Housekeeping - from October 2006

Whether it involves a pipeline in Alaska or a refinery in Texas City, BP must improve maintenance and safety standards.

- though Baker was appointed in 2005 to review safety, BP makes it sound as if Baker just came on board to review safety. -

"BP officials have announced an operational review of all its global business in response to the recent mishaps, and former Secretary of State James A. Baker is heading a panel reviewing operations at BP refineries. The CSB is also finishing up a report on the refinery explosion."

and then the deals the Carlyle group was getting in the region?

7. Take the profit out of wars and we could end 90% of them right there.

Thanks for the ALWAYS welcome reminder, Solly Mack, that it is ALL connected with BushInc.

ALL the links matter and need constant acknowledgement because together they reveal the global fascist agenda at work.

I would guess that you are not surprised that Lee Hamilton reared his head on this, too? It's always the same Dem crew preaching bipartisanship to Dems while they play cover up for BushInc. I will be happy to see the end of his reign as a party "wiseman" once and for all.

11. Not surprised at all. But you know that
Hamilton will tell you he does it to protect and save America but America would be far better off without that kind of protection.

I wonder what Baker and Hamilton are really up to...

Lots of money being made and interests to be protected...and it wouldn't hurt Poppy's feelings to have an out for his son as well.

12. They never do act separate from their greater interest.
And their interests are NOT the interests of everyday Americans.

13. A while back I opined that Bush is looking for a way out
Edited on Thu Oct-19-06 02:57 PM by Solly Mack
of Iraq - even as he continued his usual rhetoric...there was a hint of something else there.

I wondered if this "Iraqi Commission" with Baker and Hamilton wasn't part of that way out

I honestly think it might be

a so-called "independent" group outlines possible "solutions"...Bush is treated as if he was fed wrong info on Iraq(the usual excuse for all those "mistakes")....and business interests of the cronies are protected...

Not saying it'll happen over night or next week...the findings of this "independent" group don't come out until after the election, though some highlight points were "leaked" (probably to check reaction to them ahead of time)...and now Bush - Mister never say you're wrong/ Iraq is going just great/I'll never withdraw ...is now publicly accepting and agreeing to a comparison of Vietnam and Iraq? That's a major public shift of position for him...

Something just doesn't smell right.

Something's up...I just don't know what

and go read this Cheney interview - even Cheney is changing his tone on Iraq
http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1548061,00.html?cnn=yes

and today on the pentagon channel, Rumsfeld did some tone changing as well...saying the situation needs a different direction

9. I doubt Poppy and Shrub will ever come to a point that Poppy
would ever shame his son in any major way - to do so would shame the family and Poppy's not gonna allow that. Sometimes, a family feud is for the publics sake....sets the stage, so to speak...

So far, with Shrub agreeing that there is a "possible parallel" between violence in Iraq and Vietnam's Tet offense, I think we've seen a major shift in Shrub's public face....and that shift is for a reason. And it's not to save American lives.

6. Heard him on an NPR interview the other day.
He used to be Poppy's golfing partner when they met at the country club. AND, get this, he was a Dem at the time. Poppy convinced him to go over to the Rs.
