8. I applaud the effort, but this is not very good
There are lots of bills and laws that violate what's in the Bill of Rights and the Constituion. This shows some, and the ones chosen are sometimes just to news items about what Bush wants to do, or a news article about a particular infraction (like the free speech zone). And there's not any explanation of how the law (or intended law) violates the principle in the BoR, or what is codified and what has later been determined by the courts as being unconstitutional.

I don't want to sound like I'm just criticizing. I guess this is better than nothing. But it's all much worse than this. Plus the 2nd doesn't have links to any infraction by Bush. Hello weapons bans? I guess this list has only infractions by Bush that the author doesn't like, rather than all infractions by Bush. Nothing about trial by jury either. Lacking.

9. Impeachment IS Our Positive Agenda!
Edited on Thu Oct-19-06 02:09 PM by pat_k
Each and every violation comes back to their treasonous claim to absolute power.

For every abuse, national and international, they hide behind the fig leaf of Bush as urinary(1) authoritarian executive; the fascist fantasy that as long as they claim they are acting to "defend" us, they can usurp our collective sovereignty, amass ever more Unconstitutional power, violate our laws, commit international crime in our name, and destroy our institutions to serve themselves.

Every time Bush, Cheney or their minions invoke urinary authoritarian power as their get out of jail free card, they declare themselves traitors. This high crime subsumes all others. It is all we need to force them from power tomorrow.

Their many immoral atrocities -- rule by signing statement, torture Gulags, terroristic threats of Mushroom Clouds,(2) criminal war of aggression, massive program of spying on us without warrant or legitimate authorization, forcing the War Criminals Protection Act down our throats, suspending Habeus, on and on -- prove they recognize NO limits on their power.

Our common contract, the Constitution, is in breach.

Members of Congress are sworn to protect the Constitution from such destruction from within. Impeachment is the weapon we gave them to fulfill their oath.

The oath is an individual oath. Each member who fails to take up the fight for impeachment (even if they think it will be a charge of the light brigade) is betraying their oath. They are betraying the nation.

The enormous and growing alarm and outrage within the citizenry has been given no voice. Until the men and women we elected to SERVE as Our Voice speak the truth, accuse Bush and Cheney of their crimes, and take up the fight for impeachment and removal, the outraged within the electorate will seethe in frustration and silence believing they are alone in a world gone mad.

We know what we must do. Impeachment IS Our Positive Agenda.

--------------------------------
(1) Pissing on the constitution.

(2) They TERRORIZED the American people with the most colossal bomb threat in history (mushroom clouds in 45 minutes). "They terrorized us" is something I'd like to see forced into the echo chamber. Lying is too tepid a label for their acts, "Cherry picking" a mealy-mouthed nothing. They terrorized us. They committed treason.
