Baghdad violence forces U.S. to re-evaluate strategy
The U.S.-led military operation aimed at cracking down on insurgent attacks in Baghdad, is being re-evaluated after a "disheartening" rise in violence.

U.S. military spokesman Maj. Gen. William Caldwell says the operation "has not met our overall expectations of sustaining a reduction in the levels of violence," which he blamed on insurgents attempting to influence U.S. mid-term elections.
