Top US general says Rumsfeld is inspired by God
Thu Oct 19, 3:35 PM ET

MIAMI (AFP) - The top US general defended the leadership of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, saying it is inspired by God.

"He leads in a way that the good Lord tells him is best for our country," said Marine General Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Rumsfeld is "a man whose patriotism focus, energy, drive, is exceeded by no one else I know ... quite simply, he works harder than anybody else in our building," Pace said at a ceremony at the Southern Command (Southcom) in Miami.

Rumsfeld has faced a storm of criticism and calls for his resignation, largely over his handling of the Iraq war.

If God is working his will through Rumsfeld, that's a bad sign.

12. I can see that...
To quote Richard Dawkins, "The god of the Old Testament has got to be the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it, petty, vindictive, unjust, unforgiving, racist, an ethnic-cleanser urging his people on to acts of genocide."

You would think after he sees our young people killed and maimed FOR NO REASON, other than oil, that this person would have SOME compassion for the troops. Anyone who thinks this admin was sent from god needs some serious mental evaluation. May he burn in hell.

18. Damn. I confess to having harbored some hope for the first JJCOS chairman.
(Jarhead Joint Chiefs of Staff} chairman.

Then again, when you consider the vetting process Rumdum uses nowdays just to add a star, whoever he picks as chairman is lucky to be able to salute without the wires showing.

23. Inspired by Satan would be more accurate.
But in reality, I think he's actually inspired by the power and the money. Neither of which he can take with him whenever he finally has his heart attack, stroke, or whatever.

24. There are generals. And there are generals. To wit:
Edited on Fri Oct-20-06 12:16 AM by LibInTexas

I can no longer sit back and allow terrorist infiltration, terrorist indoctrination, terrorist perversion and the international terrorist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids- General Jack D. Ripper

"General Buck Turgidson (George C. Scott). He admits to the president that, while there seems to be a slight flaw in Plan R, the plan itself is basically sound. He continues to defend the policies and procedures of the armed forces even while the planes are on their way toward the Soviet Union. He advises the president to send in even more planes since there doesn't seem to be any way of recalling the first group."

And then there is...

General Zinni:
And to think that we are going to ‘stay the course,’ the course is headed over Niagara Falls. I think it's time to change course a little bit, or at least hold somebody responsible for putting you on this course. Because it's been a failure.

General Shinseki, who commanded the NATO peacekeeping force in Bosnia, said several hundred thousand troops could be needed ..."Wildly off the mark," was how Paul D. Wolfowitz, the deputy defense secretary, dismissed the Army chief's comments. Mr. Rumsfeld was a bit more circumspect in his criticism, saying that the general had a right to his opinion, but that this one would be proven wrong.

Shinseki finished his four-year term on June 11. No one from Rumsfeld’s office attended a June 11 retirement ceremony for Shinseki, and Shinseki did not mention Rumsfeld in his farewell address.

There are a bunch more generals not mentioned here. But you get the drift.
The crazies are out there as well as the sane ones. Too bad the sane ones are shaking their heads and getting the F out. Who can blame them.

This generals thing could be it's own thread if not a whole forum. Think CUSTER for example:
