Olbermann seems optimistic about his MSNBC future.
Heard him on Dan Patrick's show today. Despite the news out of NBC Universal, which calls for a 5% staffing cut and heavy cuts to the news division, he told Dan it wasn't that bad, MSNBC wasn't going off the air or "switching to black-and-white" or anything.

MSNBC will, however, be moving its facilities and staff into 30 Rock and the CNBC facility in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. It's closing down the Secaucus studios. But the network itself will remain.

Yes, the layoffs are supposed to include on-air talent, but from what I see, names have not been mentioned yet. And MSNBC is apparently NOT going to all pretaped programming.

If Keith is optimistic that he's not going anywhere, I think that's a pretty positive sign.

3. I disagree with Joe, but I'd rather see Tucker Carlson and Rita
Cosby get the axe.

5. These are STAFF cuts--all of those security guards and shift workers
at that heavily overhauled Secaucus facility ... they'll save a bundle in utility bills alone.
