CNN POLL: 74% OF AMERICANS SAY CONGRESS OUT OF TOUCH
Poll: 74 percent of Americans say Congress out of touch

(CNN) -- Just weeks before crucial midterm elections, a new poll says nearly three quarters of Americans see Congress as out of touch, much as they did in 1994, the last time the minority party took control of Capitol Hill.

Seventy-four percent of respondents to a new Opinion Research poll say Congress is generally out of touch with average Americans. That's up from 69 percent who agreed with that view in a January poll this year.

1. But Not Their Own Congressperson
The problem with polls like this is that they are meaningless -- people hate nameless politicians, but like their own reps.

Even on DU.

5. But the individual race polls are based on the
constituents of the persons running. So these are a direct reflection of where their own reps stand.

And these polls are showing nothing but big, bad and ugly news for pugs. Worse than 94. Ask us if the people had any trouble throwing us out in 94.

This is the pugs 94.

2. "the most arrogant and selfish people in this country" said my co-worker
today when he heard the latest news report on the Foley shit. This co-worker's son is in Iraq risking his life while Congress whacks itself off.

4. Well, when the congress is made up mostly of rich businessmen,
lawyers, and corporate drones, OF COURSE they are out of touch. First, they cannot possibly understand the plight of the average working person in this country. Second, they are bought and sold by the corporate powers that control this country. Most of them don't give a shit about any of us.

The only way to resolve this issue is 100% public funding of elections.
