Will repubs Deify bush like they did saint ron? |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-20-06 05:12 AM by Philosoraptor
It's always sickening to watch republicans reminiscing about the good ol' ronnie reagan days, and they get all misty eyed and nostalgic re-writing history in their minds, then they utter these fantasies aloud and expect us to swallow this bullshit. I remember reagan, and he was a jerk. fat buchannan does the same thing to this day when speaking of nixon, he always says what a great president he was, despite his place of disgrace in history.
Will they do the same deifying with st. georgey? I suspect not, I think they will try comically to disassociate themselves from him like they are doing now in their campaigns. Its a contest to see who can not mention bush's name in commercials and in speeches, cause now he's radioactive.
Funny isn't it, after all these years of kissing his ass and glorifying him as if he were Abe Lincoln or Winston Churchill, they are now ashamed to appear on the same stage with him and ashamed to be seen shaking his hand in Democratic ads.
I don't think bush will have too many statues made of him or schools named after him, and the schools that now bear his name will soon take a chisel to it.

1. only if the democratic leadership lets them. |

saint ron was a disaster as a president -- but because the party was SO terrified of being identified as liberal -- they kept quiet while the republick party rewrote history re: saint ron's tenure.

2. No, even the Cons are revolting....... |
|
(and in the honor of the immortal Three Stooges, "you can say that again".) Bush has disappointed everyone, from his fundie base, fiscal conservatives, minority haters......everyone. Except the freepers. They're a breed apart, and unfortunately, not far enough apart for my tastes. No, Bush will go down in history as an abject failure, a mistake. A lesson from which, hopefully, our country will learn NEVER to trust a phony Texan named "Bush" ever again.

Let a few years go by, they'll forget all about the massive corruption and incompetence.

5. What do you mean "will they" |
|
They've been deifying him for the past six years. Though his base of worshippers has decreased, there is still the hardcore 30% that seems to think he can do no wrong no matter how many lies he tells, laws he breaks or people he kills. The cries of "Thank God for GWB" can still be heard even today, and will likely be heard well into the future from the lips of these people.
