Today Show: Howard Dean Won't Appear with Mehlman
Today Show's openng morning segment "Who Will Control Congress?" is on the House and Senate races. They said they asked Howard Dean to be on but he refused to appear with Mehlman. Consequently, they have Terry McAuliffe voicing the Democratic Party's position.

Mehlman is talking about how Democrats will raise taxes. Same old same old.

Mehlman has an odd way of speaking out of the side of his mouth.

before he gets ready to enter the bunker.

Democrats should keep working hard to defeat these Republican hypocrites.

GOP hopes to scare up votes this Halloween, read for a good laugh
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15338793 /

WASHINGTON - With top Republican strategists now privately predicting substantial House losses, President Bush and top GOP officials plan to spend the final days of the 2006 campaign attempting to rally partisans and limit conservative defections with dire warnings about the consequences of a Democratic Congress.

Amid predictions that demoralized conservative voters might sit out the election, Bush and other senior Republicans will escalate charges that Democrats will raise taxes, weaken national security and liberalize social policies. Bush struck those themes in campaign appearances yesterday in Pennsylvania and Virginia, and White House senior adviser Karl Rove said he "will consistently refresh that message" between now and Election Day.

5. Dean refused to appear with Mehlman??
Somehow, I doubt that Dean "refused" anything. He likely had a scheduling conflict. Looks like the Today Show is up to its old tricks...:grr:

12. It's more likely this is another slam at Dean so he can be pushed aside.
The Clinton people want Dean out - the abundance of stories that have emerged with little slams against him are to create an overall picture.

Beware the planted rumors.

8. I'm glad.
Mr. Dean is of way too much moral character to appear with that piece of useless excrement. McAuliffe is a little better than Mehlman, marginally, so the two of them together isn't such an affront to moral dignity.

10. Eagles Don't Fly With Turkeys
Be assured that any time Howard Dean is on a network show, the host thinks they can make "points" by either shooting him down or trying to embarass him. Dean knows any interview with Mehlmann is a tag team where he has to play defense where he shouldn't have to.

Right now, Dr. Dean has a message he wants out unfiltered...and it's a damn powerful one. He doesn't need the he said/he said game...especially with a slimeball like Mehlmann who will lie without a thought and never be held into account for what he says...and when Dr. Dean tries to point it out, it makes Dean look weak as it appears he's on defense. Enough is enough.

While McAuliffe was a terrible party chairman and I wouldn't want him anywhere near the party leadership again, he's a good pitbull against Mehlmann. He loves to mix it up and can take the shots Dean can't.

The GOOP is desperate...they need to find a "Democratic issue"...and Dr. Dean was wise in not getting into a game of "gotcha". As the saying goes..."Eagles Don't Fly With Turkeys"

14. Having seen Dean debate Ralph Nader
I don't think he has anything to fear from Ken Mehlman.

My guess is he'd rather not be a lighting rod for the Republican party.
