The guy who posted the possible NFL stadium terror plot
Edited on Fri Oct-20-06 09:41 AM by Texas Explorer
has been charge with a crime. He and a fellow board member were having a contest to see who could come up with the scariest terror attack scenario.

What does this mean for posters on message boards, like us?

1. Probably means they shouldn't be making false terroristic
threats.

3. Was it meant as a real threat, or was it a discussion
of possible scenarios on a discussion board?

2. Not a damn thing, unless you post hoax terror threats that are
supposed to sound real

13. Kind of like Faux's "24"?
I've never seen it, but gather it's a show about semi-fictional terra.

So, basically it's okay if the fake terra is on TV, but not okay if it's posted on the Net? Corporate creative writing is not a crime while personal creative writing is?

17. It's made very clear that 24 is a tv show.
Was the post on here the same?

If not, it's pretty hard to see any much similarity there.

4. It means that threats of any kind are taken seriously.
Boards like the DU are only semi-anonymous. If you get all pissed off and make some claim that so-and-so needs to feel violent repercussions for some act, you may pay some serious consequences.

6. Have the idiot agents who thought it was real been reprimanded?
There is no stadium in NYC and how can bombs be detonated simultaneously when the games are not all played at once. Somebody needs monocles for their belly buttons so they can see out when they have their heads up their asses.

How long before ALL fiction writers get rounded up? They have already been shooting and bombing some of the more active non-fiction writers.

7. Just add a tag onto the end of your posts on such topics...
like a disclaimer: <said in jest> etc etc.

'Cause

is watching....

10. It just means
don't be an idiot.

It could also mean that this is the only distraction that Bushco could come up with. Pretty pathetic.

12. The only ones who should be going to jail are the dumb asses..
who scared America: the agents who thought the threats were real! My GOD! Didn't they read the posts? If they have such poor judgment, you have to wonder what else is thought to be a threat or not a threat in their eyes.

15. Was that fact clear where it was posted?
I haven't seen the actual posted message, therefore can't really make any assumptions. If it was clear, there's real trouble ahead. If not, he's a real dumbass and needs a damn good smack.
