Campaign contributions....where can I find out who gave what?
We have an awful lot of "non-partisan" local races in my district. They are for things like water board and a lot of judges, etc.

I know nothing about these people. I'm sure a heck not going to do and eeny meenie miny moe to choose. I used to go to this site called fundrace.org and it had some info on who gave, but it doesn't seem complete. (For one thing, I am not on it and I know I've contributed plenty.)

Does anyone have any links to sites where you can search for political donations?

1. Local races depend on your state
Edited on Fri Oct-20-06 09:45 AM by TechBear_Seattle
My state, Washington, has some of the strictest, most open public disclosure laws in the country. Reports are available within a day or two of them being filed for state and local races and for initiatives. Our Public Disclosure Commission website is at http://www.pdc.wa.gov/ (Select "Public Resources" to get access to the report tools.)

There is a separate group of resources for federal races, which are governed by federal law and the Federal Elections Commission, http://www.fec.gov/ Select "Campaign Finance Reports and Data" on the menu to get access to those tools.
