Log Cabin Republicans try to pin Foley scandal on Democrats
These assholes are just unbelievable. There are times when words fail me.

From the LCR website: http://online.logcabin.org/moving-forward.html

(excerpt)
We support efforts to have an outside investigation to thoroughly examine Foley's wrongdoings and the Congressional leadership's response. It's important to find out if Congressional leaders responded appropriately to his behavior. It's also critical to find out if Democrats held onto information about Foley in an effort to use as it as a political tool as the election approaches. Unduly politicizing this situation will backfire on Democrats like Mary Jo Kilroy who is raising the issue in her race against Log Cabin ally and Congresswoman Deborah Pryce in Columbus, Ohio.

We also criticize those who are using this scandal to push their outing efforts of gay Republicans. Log Cabin unequivocally opposes outing. I am unaware of a single forced outing that led to passage of one piece of pro-gay legislation. Coming out on your own terms with courage is a positive catalyst for change. Forced outings don't advance our movement because they're motivated by vengeance and they distract us from what's really important. Those who are trying to out gay Republicans should be ashamed.

(excerpt)
The mission of Log Cabin Republicans is more important now than ever before. Working from inside our Party with loyalty and integrity is the best way to make the GOP more inclusive. We will never achieve equality without Republican votes.

As Election Day approaches and this scandal moves from the front page, I expect most Americans will make their final decision about who to vote for based on the issues most directly impacting their lives: homeland security, the war in Iraq, taxes, the economy, oil prices, education, and other kitchen table issues. I also think voters will ask themselves if they really want to make Nancy Pelosi Speaker of the House....

1. It's not just Log Cabin Republicans playing that card
Actually that would be a good question - if the Democrats have known about this but held on to the information would it make a difference?

I don't think that's very likely, though.

3. Oh, please!
Correct if I'm wrong, but it was THEIR party who was in charge. It was THEIR party who covered it up!

Trying to blame Democrats in this way is desperate. I'd like these LCRs to answer one question: All things being equal, if Rep. Foley had a (D) next to his name, do you think it would have been handled the same way?

They need to wake up and leave that party.

10. thank you
I asked a friend her opinion - She feels they are in general very wealthy and are allowing that to protect them in some ways. There are not too many.

9. Just another group of collaborators
LCR have already sold themselves to be part of the GOP, and are willing to tarnish and destroy anyone, even other members of the Gay community, so that they can keep getting the table scraps that their Repuke masters allow them to have.

Nothing but collaborators, and not in a positive sense!
