Just now the majority of Americans... |

...are at a place where most of us were BEFORE this Iraq fiasco started. That is why we were troubled by "Shock and Awe" and not getting "wargasmic" like the rest of the country.
Americans are mentally sloth-like and intellectually lazy. I am having a hard time finding sympathy for them now.

4. I Understand Exactly What You Are Saying... Because It Has Been |
|
MY contention for many many years now that it's a sad commentary that this country has been hijacked!! Because far too many Americans were UNABLE or UNWILLING to seek the truth, now far more of us are paying the price for THEIR folly!!!
I predicted this to so many others when I tried to encourage them to get registered to vote even way back in 2000! Then again in 2002 and more forcefully in 2004. While I was persuasive to some extent, given where I live my mission was difficult. Too many people DIDN'T feel a need to vote before, then they felt it was rigged and after 2004 APATHY set in.
There are some people that are really suffering now and I have NO PROBLEM telling them that THEY were part of the problem because even though they didn't want The Idiot & his Cohorts to win, they sat on the sidelines and DID NOTHING. Now as they cry in their beer I feel no need to be gracious and try to "feel their pain" anymore. I now tell them "I told you so" and you wouldn't listen and because of my PASSION and because I reached out to you and was rejected I NOW will suffer NO fools!!
There was a time in my life when I may have felt that way, but because I felt the need to be gracious I would not voice my opinion in such a manner. I'm not in a place where I can be so noble anymore! On one hand it makes me angry that I have been made to react this way, but on the other hand I know in my heart that I was "working" for the better good of those Americans who were going to get a direct hit from the policies of this administration. I AM sorry, I really am that many find themselves in a place where they can't pay their bills, get good medical care or even provide for themselves sufficiently. But I say now... turn that finger you're pointing at others right back onto yourself because YOU were a contributor by not helping to stop a train wreck. And to those others who WERE and ARE STILL blinded by the garbage and spin that keeps going on I find that I lack a certain compassion for what I will simply call STUPIDITY!!
I also live with a feeling of angst because even IF the Democrats take over Congress, the political process that lives and breathes in D.C. now has become so infected and polluted that "we the people" seem almost insignificant. I will continue to vote, but wonder if my vote is really counted, but I also don't feel as Patriotic for my country America anymore. It runs through my mind at least 3 or 4 times a week that I actually do want to leave this country and try to start over in a small obscure place.
As a Boomer it has been extremely difficult for me to finally realize that America has become so polarized and any hope of a National uprising is not an option. Bye, Bye, Miss American Pie!!
