IT MADE THE NEWS: House committee dismisses bulk of investigative division
http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2006-10-19-house-committee-shakeup_x.htm

For those who waited with baited breath, as to whether the Monday Night Massacre would make the news, IT DID! And USA Today no less. This is big people, and it looks so freaking corrupt!

1. Of course it's corrupt. They can't really have the facts of how
they misappropriated and misused and misspent all that money, can they?

I always can't help but think that when an investigation takes months, or a year, that they have the wrong people on the job. Get it done, get it right, and get the news to the people (the American taxpayer) that are footing the bills.

6. Oh, there's bigger "beltway news" -- on Hardball and CNN/Situation Room
Edited on Sat Oct-21-06 05:15 AM by Senator
The staffer fired by Hoekstra. Jane Harman is livid.

Here's the http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0610/20/sitroom.01.html">the CNN transcript (the near the end).

Matthews called it an "inside baseball" story, more like "inside the palace walls" story. And as with all palace intrigue, you never know where allegiances lie and if subtle blackmail is lurking.

The staffer has already retained Jonathan Turley to spin his euphemedia buddies.

And there'll be no dearth of attention, as trivialities like war crimes, WMD, and Constitution shredding pale in comparison to any story that's "all about them" (and their friends/sources/neighbors).
