Can we try to come up with a 'slogan' instead of 'cut n run' ... |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-20-06 11:06 AM by jhrobbins
to use when the Republicans say that this is the Democratic answer to the Iraqi civil war. First of all, that is what we should start calling that - the Iraqi civil war! (Nevermind that we started this civil war)
ANy smart advert people out there to think of a new news snippet?

It needs to be positive.
Retreat does not mean surrender. It does not mean "I give up". It simply means that retreating is the best thing right now. It's a strategic move.

My only concern is that, if you're going to scale back to a simple slogan, those might be "too big" words. Sad to say, but if you're trying to court the simple minded, the vocabulary should be simple. For example, "cut and run" is comprehensible to a 2nd grader.

I think the Dems should find a way to turn the "cut n run" slogan against the GOP, cos their MO is "cut capital gains taxes for the rich, run on their campaign donations" -- who's the real cut'n'run?

8. The WH has stopped using those words - 'cause |
|
they are positioning themselves as the "Adapters".
And on another note, taking a hint from Clinton - Whenever the Repugs and talking heads make some ridiculous statement about the liberals, Dems, etc. every Dem (and I mean every Dem) should begin their response with that is an "assertion" not a "fact". Say it over and over and over again. I have been using it for sometime on Bushwackers and it really frustrates them. Frankly I think most of them go home and look it (assertion) up as they have been arguing with only assertions for so long they don't know the difference.

22. Play it Smart, vote Democratic |
|
GOP plays it dumb. GOP is for unabashed idiots. By ignorant fools, for ignorant fools. That's their image.
Most 2000 Bush voters are already hanging their heads in shame, for being fooled. And now the GOP's strategies and slogans get dumber and dumber. Democrats and liberals are called elitist because they insist on using more than 2 brain cells at a time. GOP is trying to make intelligence seem like a bad thing! They don't try to deny that Democrats are smarter! They turn it around and imply that smart=bad.
It's time to fully embrace Smart.

28. First of all, 'answering' is not always the best method |
|
In other words, change just a little bit to think in terms of firing back a hit vs. defending yourself from harm.
Shoot back (without repeating 'cut and run') by proclaiming: The GOP are a bunch of carnival hustlers handing out bumperstickers and slogans instead of progressive results.
