Fla. Highway Crash Kills 7 Adopted Kids
LAKE BUTLER, Fla. - Seven adopted children from a single household were killed Wednesday in a fiery crash when their car was crushed between a truck and a stopped school bus in rural northern Florida.

The children, ranging in age from 15 years to 21 months, were alone in the car, headed toward their home about two miles north of the crash site. The truck hit them from behind, pushing their car into the bus and causing the car to burst into flames, police said.

"It's a very chaotic scene," said Lt. Mike Burroughs of the Florida Highway Patrol. "It's just a mangled, charred mess."

Everyone in the car was killed, including the 15-year-old girl who was driving illegally.

4. Why was a 15 year old allowed to transport siblings?
There was NO adult in the car and the driver was operating the car illegally. Where was the adoptive parent?

Florida is becoming infamous for it's lack of qualified adoptive parents. It appears they would rather throw the kid to unqualified adults rather than keeping and paying the expense of kids as wards of the court. It's a GOP thing.

6. An adult would have made NO difference.
According to the article these kids were in the wrong place at the wrong time. The 15-year-old driver didn't cause the accident; was stopped in fact, when hit from behind by a truck. These kids should not have been alone in a car, but apparently that had nothing to do with their deaths.

Poor little tykes.

7. She shouldn't have been driving at all.

Who in their right mind lets a teenager to drive six siblings illegally?
And you don't know if it would have made a difference. Ever heard of defensive driving? Even though it wasn't the girl's fault, it's possible a better driver could have done something to avoid the death of them all.
