Everyone, myself included seems to be losing their minds around here. You have every right. And many people here have been working their asses off to stop this facsist pig's nomination. You have every right to be pissed, to yell, to scream, to bitch. You won't get any complaints from me. But please, can we do one thing first?

We don't have much time left. This nomination will come to a vote in the next few days. There are apparently only a few senators standing in the way of this nomination. Bob Fertik seems to have been told it's 8 of them. http://www.democrats.com/alito-8 Whatever the case, we need to find out who those senators are and turn the heat up.

Many of us at this point may be wasting our energy and time calling our senators, faxing them, etc. if those senators are not the ones who are opposing the filibuster. I believe we need to calm down, collect ourselves, get organized, and get to work.

Please call your senators, insist (politely, of course), that they let you know where that particular senator stands on a filibuster. I realize maybe they won't tell you, but we need to try, and we need to keep trying. If you get an answer either way, please check back in here. Once we can get a better idea of who to put the pressure on, we can take whatever energy and time we have left to pressure the HELL out of whoever is standing in the way of this filibuster.

Maybe in the end, the Dems will still cave. But please, let's not waste the little bit of time we have left feeling helpless. This is our last chance. There's plenty of time for helpless later. We can sit around, drink some beers (or not) and post away about how spineless the Dems are and how our country is going down the drain while they roll over and piss themselves. But there's still a chance it may not have to come to that.

Maybe at this point in time, it seems the Dems have given up. That doesn't mean we have to.

Three Dems have publically said that they are not going along with a filibuster. One of them is actually voting for Alito. I'm assuming since these three have already publically stated where then stand and so aren't going to change - you want to get the names of the 5 other ones who haven't said anything publically yet since they may still change their mind?
