1. It's really not very good ad at all.
I'm surprised they're running it.

2. i agree. it's shameful pandering and i would imagine that
most will see thru it. it doesn't even say 'vote republican'! after all, conservatives don't do nuance.

Actually, I was talking about the construction of the ad itself.

The ticking clock is a poor substitute for a voice over. People will tune it out because it's annoying.

In addition, people aren't going to sit there and read all of the text that's presented. It would be more effective
if the quotes were being read to the audience.

Finally - the images of bin Laden et al have lost any sense of threat with the intended audience. You're more likely
to see bin Laden in a parody on South Park than you are to see him in a report outlining a new successful attack on
anyone, let alone Americans. If anything, it serves to remind people that bush hasn't caught any of these guys.

Pretty stupid idea.

i was wondering today how we got such mental midgets in our politics. then i remembered american apathy and answered my own question. that and you have to have moeny to run. i can't wait until paris hilton becomes president. perhaps her vp can be jessica simpson . . . or k-fed!

5. Second time I've seen it and I'm awed by the ineptitude of it.
I propose another Stakes ad.

Show hurricanes. Show Katrina. Show Americans begging for water. Show desperate dogs. Show seniors without medication. Show the coffins of our soldiers. Shows the faces of our dead. Show Condi and Rummy and Hastert and all the others lying......

More of the same? Or change? Vote November 7.

3. Seems to me like prominently featuring Bin Ladin would backfire

since they have utterly failed at finding him (and of course * is on record as saying he doesn't much care one way or the other if he is captured).
