Elizabeth Edwards: I'm More Joyful Than Hillary Clinton
http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/10/20/D8KSHGPO0.html

Elizabeth Edwards, wife of White House hopeful John Edwards, says her choices in life have made her happier than Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton _ a possible Edwards' rival for the Democratic nomination.

"She and I are from the same generation. We both went to law school and married other lawyers, but after that we made other choices. I think my choices have made me happier. I think I'm more joyful than she is," Elizabeth Edwards said Thursday.

Speaking at a luncheon sponsored by the Ladies Home Journal, Edwards said she didn't know the New York senator very well but expects Clinton will be "a formidable opponent" for her husband, the Democrats' 2004 vice presidential nominee.

By the way: the yard sign vandalism that we discussed yesterday - the person I suspected confessed to it in a very ugly exchange in my side yard yesterday...:grr:

11. Dude, it almost came to fisticuffs...
I have no idea what his prob is, but he needs to get a grip. He did ultimately apologize for his goofy shit.

Also, he pretty-much confessed to what happened last fall (with your stuff).:grr: I'll tell you about next time we're in the driveway...

15. I think his significant other (JC) gave him hell because I threatened to
...not renew my lease due of his bullshit, because he (ultimately) apologized.

Man, that just sucked...:(

I don't want to go anywhere - our little corner of the world is bliss.

5. Nice woman....
but she says herself that she does not know Clinton. As another poster on a similar thread observed, what criteria is she privy to that she can make that kind of comparison. Like I said, nice woman, but she's the wife of a presidential hopeful, and even I can recognize an early shot across the bow of the front-runner when I see it. Thanks.

25. She would be well-advised
to stop making these unnecessary comparisons PRONTO. I found the first one classless and this one even moreso.

Either she is trying to slack people or she MUST learn to deal with reporters.

It is one or the other, but nobody should expect reporters not to exploit opportunities when they happen.

or an answer to a question?

I certainly hope it is the latter, and just got taken out of context.

9. I love Elizabeth Edwards, but I don't think this is very kind.
How does she know Hillary isn't THRILLED with her life choices? Hillary DID make it to the WH, no? Hillary is a Senator. Didn't she CHOOSE to be a Senator? Hillary has a beautiful grown daughter, and a well grounded one at that and a husband she must love and adore. How does Elizabeth know Hillary isn't "Joyful?" Hillary wasn't the stay-at-home and bake cookies type. Who's to say her choices weren't exactly what SHE wanted and make her life "Joyful?"

26. BE CAUTIOUS OF THE SOURCE! Andrew Breitbart is a Drudge sidekick...
Edited on Fri Oct-20-06 07:09 PM by KrazyKat
Sorry to shout, but a number of posters here are just taking this "story" at face value. Don't!

Although he helped set up the Huffington Post, Andrew Breitbart identifies himself as a conservative, and his news site is what Drudge frequently links to. A "let's divide the Democrats" story is right up their alley.

Even though the story allegedly comes from AP, I would be very, very circumspect about it. IMO, it sounds like something taken completely out of context from a longer interview.

I'll bet the farm that Elizabeth Edwards will be clarifying this by nightfall tomorrow.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Breitbart
<snip>
Breitbart has appeared as a conservative commentator on talk shows such as Real Time with Bill Maher and Dennis Miller. Breitbart took on a higher profile as a commentator during the 2004 U.S. election cycle after appearing in Michael Moore Hates America, a 2004 movie directed by Michael Wilson that is highly critical of filmmaker Michael Moore's documentary creation tactics and editing style. As a guest commentator on FOX News Channel's morning show on May 10th, 2004, Breitbart explained that "Michael Moore's been lying for ten years. Every time that guy lies he gains a pound. He's like a culinary Pinocchio" and "Yeah, they love him. They love the sort of anti-middle American vibe that the guy gives off because he's from Flint, Michigan, so he can ostensibly claim to be speaking for Middle America. But the guy lives on the Upper West Side, and he's the classic elitist."

He now runs his own news site at breitbart.com, with the motto "Just The News." The site is now frequently linked to by the Drudge Report and other independently run websites...

28. I don't understand how she could make that comment
How does she know Hillary's emotional state? What choices is she referring to? I think Elizabeth's comment was in poor taste.

I don't think that someone who neglected to see a doctor or get a mammogram for several years, until she found a "plum" sized lump in her breast has any business critizing other's life choices.

I just don't know how Elizabeth Edwards can assess someone else's level of "joy".

I also agree with the posters who said that we don't need this distraction right now. The GOP will spin it into some kind of fight between the two.

attack her for it, you must understand this. I support her support of Edwards (as long as she doesn't bear false witness and is merely expressing an opinion). She's a good person.
