Me too. I have to remember what he said in 2004 and how his hopes then basically got crushed. Only for the sake of political gain and pandering to extremists.

7. We also have a state constitutional amendment on the ballot.
It would guarantee stem cell research can be carried out here. It includes a ban on human cloning, kind of a bone to the multitudes of fundies in rural MO.

27. Does anyone know what happened
with the new drug Michael had started on a few years ago. I heard, at the time, that the drug was very beneficial to him and that his condition had improved.

It is so hard to see him in the shape he is now.

I won't get started on my feelings about stem cell research. It's such a no brainer it makes me seethe with anger and frustration - especially when I think of the billions we've spent killing healthy innocent people.

The ad is great. I hope it works.

31. You can only treat PD, you can't cure it...
and pretty much all the drugs and brain surgeries currently used to treat it decrease in thereputic value over time. It's a sad situation, basically doctors can only throw different treatments in at different times to try to maximize the effect of each one.

53. It's possible that the new medication is still working for him
It's pretty obvious that he took no medication that day and allowed them to film him without medication on board so that all could see just how bad it is for him and for all folks with Parkinson's so that they would be influenced as they should be influenced. He is a brave and good person to do this.

50. That ad touched me - I donated to McCaskill's campaign.
Michael J Fox is so brave to have made that ad. Stem cell research is fucking important - it sickens me that assholes like Bush can be so myopic as to not see this basic human need for medical research. To Bush, and his like, their selfish personal opinions are more important than human suffering.

I hope McCaskill wins (as well as the Dems take the house and senate) and champions some compassionate, progressive legislation to get stem cell research steaming full power ahead.
