Freepers calling CNN al-Jazeera of the west, smells like desperation.
"CNN's airing of portions of the latest Iraqi "insurgency" (as the MSM labels it) propaganda videotapes this past week put them in the realm of Al-Jazeera, the mouthpiece for al-Qaeda and Islamic terrorists all over the world.

The fact that the tape, showing snipers shooting at American military personnel, was delivered to Baghdad correspondent Michael Ware by so-called "intermediaries," recalls the handy access terrorists seem to have to Al-Jazeera. Indeed, I've often wondered if there's a slot in the back door marked "terrorist propaganda"?

A friend who was none too pleased at CNN's decision, sent them the following letter:

My question is why are you knowingly spreading ENEMY propaganda?

Only a complete fool or a traitor would show this video. I'd say that CNN is obviously in both camps. And just who are these "intermediaries?" CNN employees consorting with Islamist terrorists?

I'd say shame on you, but no one who works at CNN could have any shame, as you do whatever it takes to make sure terrorists win and Democrats get elected.

You're despicable.

If anyone feels similarly, click here for CNN's feedback form.

Responding to all the criticism (and praise from certain quarters), Anderson Cooper is defending CNN's decision to air the tape in the interest of presenting "the unvarnished truth." But for some strange reason, the unvarnished truth only seems important when it sheds a negative light on the war in Iraq and by extension, the Bush administration."

They might think about not calling one of the most well-known news networks in our country al-Jazeera of the west, the people who watch it might not think so well of that. Those freepers are pissing off so many people, they may not have anyone left to vote for them.

2. Sure, it's propaganda.

prop‧a‧gan‧da  /ˌprɒpəˈgændə/

1. information, ideas, or rumors deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, institution, nation, etc.

We wouldn't want information or ideas to actually affect our thinking, would we?

3. OH MY GOD: It gets even better:
"They support the killing of American soldiers and claim journalistic prerogative. Then will only show Americans killing the enemy when they think they can get him arrested for murder."

4. Who supports the killing of American soldiers:
The person who wants the war to continue, or the person who wants the war stopped?

6. I don't know. Awful images, and real - but even so...
On one side, CNN made a brave decision to air the footage. It shows the brutal reality of present Iraq. Seen trough the prism of journalism, they are doing their job.

Then again, it's also propaganda made for a purpose and I have no problem understanding people screaming at their TVs.

Sadly CNN then used a former US sniper in Iraq, with some sixty kills on his resume, as a kind of character witness to how bad this was. One can only hope his victims were all verified as truly bad guys.

Either way - snipers are the utter scum of war. The epitome of cowards.

7. How odd, I thought that Amy "Osamaette" Goodman had their main wrath?
Along with Juan "al Sadr" Cole and Noam "Saddam" Chomsky? Gosh, here I thought that Wolf Blitzer went straight from Jerusalem Post and AIPAC to CNN... so it must be that questionable Christianne Amanpour, since her father is Persian, her own Christianity and English upbringing be damned....
