(WJZ) Ft. Meade, MD WJZ.COM has learned of a six-alarm fire in Ft. Meade.

Firefighters have evacuated the office building amid fears the building could collapse.

Smoke from the burning building could be seen from as far as Southern Baltimore.

Officials say they do not know why the military building at 4554 Llewellyn Avenue caught fire. They do say, however, the building is not actively used by the military.

Is it possible for a building, that ostensibly has fire alarms, sprinklers etc., and probaby hundreds of employees, to suffer that much fire damage so quickly if the fire was accidental in nature? BTW, I watched the NBC4 broadcast this evening and they said firefighters are having trouble because there is not enough water (or water pressure, I don't know which) with which to fight the fire. Unbelievable. Now a 6-alarm blaze. From the live pics I saw, it looks as if the whole complex is a total loss -- completely engulfed in flames.
