You're damn right I'd rather see Saddam back in power...
...than this horror this neocon cabal has inflicted on us and the rest of the world.

1. I've said that from the first day of the invasion. We had no right to
bomb and enter.

2. More and more, now, people are saying this out loud.
The fact of the matter is this: when compared to the carnage we have wrought upon innocent citizens of a sovereign nation, Saddam was, by far, the lesser of two evils.

Rather have a brutal dictator than utter chaos.

6. it's a hard thing to say, but...
I think we can all agree that once Saddam was pushing up daisies, Ootie and Cootie wouldn't have lasted 48 hours. I got trashed for saying this before, a long time ago, but I think the Iraqis would have handled this by themselves when the time came just fine. Romania comes to mind... Maybe the outcome still wouldn't be to US policy's liking, but the Iraqis would have had the final word and not have it shoved down their throat.

Why anyone thought they would thank us for this is beyond me.

7. saddam was (is) irrelevant
he was a PR demon--a brand name boogeyman for the "war" infomercials.

and he was in the way of the real objective, which had nothing to do with the "freedom" of the Iraqi people.

Invading and occupying Iraq is and was all about tighter control over the supply of oil.
