I moved into a house previously owned by a Freeper. You can't believe |
|
the amount of mail I get from the Republican Party!!!!! I live in New Mexico and every week I get two or three mailings from the RNC about how evil Patsy Madrid is and how she is a puppet of Nancy Palosi and the "San Francisco liberals".
As someone who has contributed to the democratic party and worked for Wes Clark and John Kerry, why don't I get these kind of mailings from the Democratic party about Heather Wilson?

1. I'm getting it, too, and I've lived here for10+ years. Lots of money |
|
is being spent to make us aware of who's out there. I'm getting heavy rethug, but their candidate is a write in to replace DeLay, and she has a long name, unlike NICK LAMPSON.

17. I used to sign petitions protesting DeLay, who was my rep. |

And he'd send me 'thank-you' notes. :eyes: Either that's how they got it, or everyone is being targeted.
Edit to add: Or, I was a registered independent before I voted in the primary this spring.

2. I get plenty of mail from the DNC |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-20-06 09:52 PM by Eric J in MN
...but it's national. The DNC doesn't criticize my Republican Congressman in the mail (as far as I've noticed.)

I'm guessing your mail is like mine, addressed to the previous occupant, by name? All I do is write "no longer at this address" on the outside of the envelope and toss it back in the mail.

5. It is fun the first few times reading it, whipping your ass with it |
|
Relining your bird cage with it and setting it on fire.
Soon the novelty wears out. I get them too!

10. Yes, before I moved in she had a Bush/Cheney sign in MY yard! |
|
A friend of mine took a photo of the house I just bought with a Bush/Cheney sign in the front yard. He thought that was real funny!

I am amazed at all the crap they are constantly spewing. Another good way to get them to waste their money is to register as independent -

9. One of the things you can do for fun... |
|
with the republican mailings is to use their postpaid envelopes and stuff them full of junk papers so that it will cost them extra to receive the letter. On occasions, I have also sent a check for one cent. For a while there, I had a certificate that proclaimed that I was an "Official Member of the Republican National Committee." I used to live in Dumb Denny Hastert's district, and he regularly sent out badly slanted questionnaires to his constituents, so I regularly sent inconsistent responses. Strangely enough, I stopped getting republican stuff when I subscribed to The Nation.

The best thing to do, if it doesn't need a stamp, is to just send it back empty. They have to pay something for every piece mailed.

When the Government was looking for my stepbrother for the Vietnam draft, they would send me letters asking where he was. I always sent them back full of cigarett buts, salami wrappers etc. Garbage in, garbage out.

14. We get solicitations from Billy Graham and Dick Cheney's invitations |
|
to fundraisers. We save the Billy Graham postage paid envelopes and stuff them with the Dick's invitations and the other way around. It is quite fun.

18. I think the RNC strategy has always been a constant stream |
|
of noise - through the mail, on the radio, on the TV. So long as they keep up the barrage, their base won't have time to stop and think. (It's sort of like brainwashing - if you keep saying something over and over as loudly as possible, your target comes to believe it.) Democrats don't use this strategy because they want people to stop and think - when voters actually think about issues they vote left...

19. If there are self-addressed, stamped envelopes, with them |
|
send them back with a note that the addressee doesn't live there anymore. Sending them back makes them pay for the postage.
