Did Daddy send in James Baker to bail out Jr.? |
|
It just seems a little strange that they were so stubborn until James Baker shows up. Is it the same old thing where Jr. screws everything up and Daddy steps in to bail him out?

The old man is freaked. He has the policy experience, CIA, Ambassabor to China, Veep and Top Gun. He knows he best part of Dubya ran... well... ran from responsibility, success and Vietnam. Baker is Shrub's last hope...

Does the Pope...well, never mind. Of course that's what happened, but the chimp ain't gonna admit it so a grotesque charade will have to be performed whereby it will be determined that we have "won" in Iraq and therefore no deviation from the original mission (whatever the fuck that was) has occurred.

6. What do you mean, "until"? |
|
I see Cheney and Bush saying loud and clear, they're staying the course, the only exit strategy is victory.
Sounds to me like Kissinger beats Baker here.

7. The generals were just called in for "frank" discussions about Iraq |
|
They are getting ready to change "tactics" after the elections. The real power players are calling the shots now.

protecting his interests with Baker, while junior thinks he is paving the way for the Bush legacy.
I seriously doubt poppy is happy with anything junior is up to with the nixon gang, we never see him with cheney or rummy. and the gang has pissed off poppy's cia buds with the whole intelligence failures BS.

12. Will Jr. let Daddy's friend James Baker bail him out? |
|
That's the real question. I don't think he will.

Just election year smoke and mirrors. Lee Hamilton on the Iraq Study Group is proof of that. They are not going to lose all that oil and that's all there is to it.

They will have to try and hold together for the next few years. Baker won't be able to fix this one.

15. I just got to thinking |
|
Wasn't poppy head of the agency? Wasn't Plame part of it also? Didn't we read how pissed off the agency was at her outing? and wasn't poppy pissed about jr., invading Iraq???? Saddam was on the agency's payroll as far back as 1959, so I can see him being against it (at least I know I read that he did not agree)I also read one time, that poppy is the ONLY past president that accesses and reads intelligence reports, even though all past pres's have that ability...then add the fact that Baker is in DC, but does not seem to be carrying much influence with Jr.,...so my question is this...Does Poppy still wield enough power to arrange taking Jr., out by force IF he feels it becomes necessary? and IF Baker does not manage to influence him to change directions? Would he? or is there enough animosity between poppy/jr to become a power struggle between them in either direction?)
Let's face it.....dealing with Clinton compared to jr., has to be an experience for poppy.....does Clinton have enough gravitas to influence the old man's thinking and would he???....just curious as to what others think..am I way off the mark?? or is this in the realm of possibilities? windbreeze
