What kind of person treats torture and stripping people of rights as an
academic exercise? Looks at it as a cerebral issue? I'm not talking about those insane SOBs heading up this colossal nightmare--*, Cheney, Rummy, and Condi. I'm talking about all the lawyer types who wordsmith and military brass who move blocks around on maps. The lawyers and lawmakers in this nation take an OATH to defend the Constitution, as do the military. How, in a million years, can anyone see removing habeus corpus as anything but unconstitutional? That among the natural rights of humans is the right to liberty and to confront your accusers. How could our legislators craft a law which makes it illegal to litigate or to test the constitutionality of the Military Commissions Act?

1. Not to mention the power to declare anyone an enemy combatant.
Some idiot on Lou Dobbs last night was lambasting the democratic legislature for Not voting 100% for this illegal and unconstitutional legislation. What a bunch of cowards these repukes are. They are so very afraid of the terrorists that they are willing to give up our liberty.

2. Disbar them
That's a pretty plain and simple common sense thing to do.

So called "lawyers" like John Yoo are no more lawyers than Joseph Mengele was a physician.

They disgrace EVERYONE in their profession.

So, the obvious answer to that is they ought to be ousted from the profession.

True, it might not keep Alberto Gonzales off of the Supreme Court, but it might just be a beginning to where people actually start having some respect for attorneys again.

3. Amen!
Just knowing a lot about anatomy does not make you a doctor and knowing a lot about law or the constitution does not make you a lawyer.

As * proves, knowing a lot of politicians does not make one a great leader.
