what a shock I tell you! Cheney/bush will never let the US out of Iraq. The oil contracts go into effect 12/30/06! This is just another dog and pony show....

Bush was to hold his war consultations with Vice President Dick Cheney, national security advisers Stephen Hadley and Steven Crouch, General John Abizaid, his top commander in the Middle East, General George Casey, the US commander in Iraq, and US ambassador in Iraq Zalmay Khalilzad.

Casey and Khalilzad were to join in via a video hook-up from Baghdad, the spokesman said.

The meeting comes as the US faces one of the most deadly months for US troops in Iraq since the invasion of March 2003. At least 75 US military personnel have been killed so far in October as the US seeks to quell bombings and violence especially in Baghdad.

In his weekly radio address Saturday, Bush rejected the idea that the United States was considering withdrawing from Iraq but added that it was "constantly adjusting" its tactics.

"There is one thing we will not do: We will not pull our troops off the battlefield before the mission is complete," Bush said.

2. As colbert said
this is a man who will do the same thing on thursday what he did on tuesday regardless of what happens on wednesday. For being a "christian" he displays a great deal of pride. Way to proud to admit he and his supporters have been incredibly and dangerously wrong about Iraq. Meanwhile our kids continue to die and "conservatives" don't give a damn.
