THE ELECTION IS NOT OVER. GET BACK TO WORK

At times like this, it's easy to get complacent -- to let up on our efforts.
"They've already lost", will be the refrain, let's take a break. "We've already won."

THE ELECTION IS NOT OVER. GET BACK TO WORK

I don't care if Bush comes out with a mea culpa, saying he was wrong about everything.

THE ELECTION IS NOT OVER. GET BACK TO WORK

I don't care if the religious right and all of their factions apologize for attempting to create a theocracy.

THE ELECTION IS NOT OVER. GET BACK TO WORK

I don't care if Hastert resigns and says he was entirely to blame for the Foley affair.

THE ELECTION IS NOT OVER. GET BACK TO WORK

I don't care if Bush fires Rumsfeld

THE ELECTION IS NOT OVER. GET BACK TO WORK
THE ELECTION IS NOT OVER. GET BACK TO WORK
THE ELECTION IS NOT OVER. GET BACK TO WORK
THE ELECTION IS NOT OVER. GET BACK TO WORK
THE ELECTION IS NOT OVER. GET BACK TO WORK

We are close to victory. But our actions in the next few weeks will determine whethor we win or lose.

6. Amen.
Time to do what you can. Canvass, stuff envelopes, make phone calls, put up signs where ordinances allow it.

7. Most "Dems" seem to have the attention span of ADHD 7-year-olds.
As an independent, I look at the partisans and shake my head when I've helped on individual campaigns. For the last 26 years, it's been the same story. It's like there's a "Halloween Break" and the Dems never seem to come back to work. Either it's "hopeless" or "in the bag." And they get their clocks cleaned all over the country ... because corporate money never stops feeding the right and fueling the fascists. The "Dems" seem to like to 'party for the party' - and wind up attending wakes. It sure looks like a habit to me.

8. Karl Rove's battle plans have just kicked in
I spent last night doing damage control as Heather Wilson called Patsy Madrid a flip flopper on domestic spying. It's a total lie and it's right out of the Rove playbook. Madrid was up by 8 points but I have a feeling it's going to tighten up with the new Rove attacks.

11. Not only is the election not over, it has not even started. The
election takes place on Nov 7.

What is going on now is called a campaign.

(just one of my pet peeves)

No need to look like our ignorant, unedumacated friends on the right.

13. I just signed up for the Call for Change.
Edited on Sat Oct-21-06 11:14 AM by woodsprite
The guy I talked to said I made his day. He is having such a hard time getting volunteers. He sounded soooo happy. Sooooo, is anyone doing this? I do the training call tomorrow night. I think my donation to Dean last weekend will be my last monetary donation for awhile if I wanna keep hubby happy. So I thought calling might be more acceptable to him.

14. Call For Change
I signed days ago and never heard back. Dean is the only one I can afford to donate to and I have. I have unlimited phone service and could call anywhere, I'm retired and have the time.

19. I didn't sign up from their web page. They called me, so I
guess they're canvasing for callers. Maybe it's just taking some time to get to people who volunteered over the web. I believe their web site had contact numbers.

18. Agreed---Too many gloating 'we're up by 20' posts
I'm convinced they are a jinx. I saw it happen in 2004 with the 'Bush is toast' threads. We must act like we are 20 pts. behind.
