Taxes, the convenient target for Republicans.
For decades, the Republicans have maligned taxes.

Because Republicans support cheap labor and deadly business practices I do not hear Republicans wanting to do anything about high prices. Why should they, when they encourage businessmen to act corrupt and greedy to the detriment of people's finances and people's lives.

Instead of blaming taxes, people should blame business people for paying lower wages and higher prices as a big cause of many people haveing problems living better lives.

When you cut taxes and pander to people's own self interest on taxes, you adversely affect those less fortunate who need help from the government and sometimes that involves people's deaths.

and amassing enormous debt.. these slimy repukes
are set to blame anyone who tries to clean up their mess.

2. Taxes feed, educate, heal, care for, house and protect all of us.
Rich people who want to do away with taxes do not belong
in spirit to the community at large. They are unpatriotic.
They are anti child, anti family and anti equality.

I don't think we Democrats are very good at attack mode on
this issue. We seem to let the Repugs get away with anti
tax pandering every time.

3. We should CUT taxes!!!
They go on and on about how the lower 90% don't pay "ANY" tax, why bother taxing the lower 90% AT ALL?

I say, give the lower 90% a tiny tax cut to "sell" ($50/year?) the new plan and then LIKE ***DOUBLE*** THE TAXES ON THE UPPER .05%.

...we can then go around saying it was a tax cut for the vast majority of Americans, while rasing revenue.

AND PLEASE... if you don't know who MAKES the money in our economy, check out: http://lcurve.org

4. Taxes are never really cut when there is a deficit or debt.
They are merely shifted to someone else or postponed (as debt).

Recent cuts in federal taxes caused less federal money to go to the states, so the states had to raise their taxes to make up for it.

The only way to cut taxes is to cut spending. Conservative wisdom is that cutting tax rates will force the government to cut spending. Conservative practice is to make the other guy pay taxes and to direct the cash into a cronie's pocket.
