POLL: Dems lead 55%-37%, Newsweek generic ballot WOOOOOOH
Edited on Sat Oct-21-06 01:20 PM by Grebrook
Democrats lead 55%-37% among likely voters for November. Among white evangelicals, Republicans earn only 60%-31% of the vote, matching the findings of Pew Research. This is a huge increase for the Democrats. Republicans won 79% of the vote in 2004. Even a 15% increase in the white evangelical vote, coupled with the loss of independents and swing voters, also in the context of a depressed evangelical turnout, means utter disaster for the GOP.

Mort Kondracke on Fox News has said repeatedly that if the Dems win about 7% more of the popular vote than the Republicans, it's almost guaranteed that they'll pick up the 15 seats they need, despite gerrymandering, because that much of a popular surge is unlikely to be pent up only in heavily Democratic districts. At this rate, Dems will take about 25 seats, maybe 30.

1. We'll keep up the pressure, certainly, BUT ...
it is time for the Mars candy company to respond appropriately to the Democratic tide certain to be manifest on Nov. 7th.

I hereby call on the Mars candy company, specifically their Masterfoods USA division, makers of Starburst Fruit Chews, to make and distribute -- in time for the election --

BLUE starbursts.

This has to be done. On the night of November 7th, blue Starbursts should be on every tray and coffee table in the damn country. You should be able to eat blue Starbursts in insurance offices, teachers' lounges, and in the waiting room at Jiffy Lube.

Please contact the Masterfoods corporate offices with this demand.

The number is: 1 - 800 - 551 - 0683, M-F, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ...

or email them at once at AskUs@MasterfoodsUSA.com.

3. Final score: Michigan State 41, Northwestern 38.
Michigan State staged the biggest comeback in NCAA Division I-A history Saturday, rallying from a 35-point third-quarter deficit to beat Northwestern 41-38. Even going into the 4th quarter Michigan State was behind by a 38-17 score. I bet in the 3rd quarter there were Northwestern fans who were strutting and thinking how bad they were. Even in the last quarter they probably thought they had the game in the bag. There were certainly some shocked Northwestern fan faces in Evanston, Illinois. But it ain't over till it's over and as Kevin Costner as Elliot Ness said, "Therein lies the lesson." "Never stop fighting till the fight is over". There will be plenty of time to strut and celebrate then. Crow is hard to swallow, legitimate or not.

4. Wow. GOP loosing on moral values. I hope that is a permanent wake up.
Nothing moral about attacking people who are "others". That is the opposite of the message in the bible.
