Hee Hee. Dean: Not one DIME went to Democrats...
Edited on Thu Jan-26-06 07:20 AM by Clark2008
from Jack Abramoff.

Hope you all caught him teaching Miss Katie how to be a journalist on the Today Show.

And, I hope someone caught it for viewing for a later-rising crowd.

He also told what Dems stand for in less than 30 seconds and he explained that the tapping was WARRANTLESS, which is against the Constitution, but that Dems wanted to tap the phones of terrorists, but within the law. He repeated, over and over, that Bush was BREAKING the LAW.

Good on Dr. Dean! :loveya:

1. I really do hope Crooks & Liars or Can O' Fun
caught this.

Dean SCHOOLED the American public and didn't sound "wild" like the press always accuses him of.

Katie just said, "Well, we'll have to check into that and let our viewers know at a later date" regarding the fact that not one Dem took money from Abramoff.

I bet they don't check into that. :eyes:

5. I think she already knows that this is BS. She is just propagating
the BS to the sheeple.

4. If Katie had an ounce of journalistic capabiltiy........
she would have already known this and not disgraced herself on national TV. I guess it's too much to ask that any of these talking heads do any prep for a show. :eyes:
Why is the entire Corporate Media so ignorant of the facts in the Abramoff scandal? It has to be willful ignorance, or an agenda. I'm leaning toward the later. The Corporate Media is purposely "catapulting the propaganda" for the bush administration and it's getting VERY sickening. :puke:
Are there no more "fair and balanced" journalists anymore? You can count them on one hand, I'm sure.

9. Yes, and if she actually HAD an original thought
it would leave a vapor trail across her mind.

11. I think a lot of them get the meme from ROVER, myself
We know Tweety has a hotline to the guy--it is so damn obvious, especially lately. When Karl says jump, he asks 'How high?'

6.  Maybe we should write and tell her "thanks but no thanks"
We already looked into it ourselves. Dean is right and she just reads right wing talking points.

15. A little reminder was sent
The time for Katie Couric to "look into" who took money from Abramoff was before she made the accusation to Governor Dean.

Research K Street.

Research Open Secrets for lists of political constributions.

It's quite easy.

Will look forward to Katie's follow-up on what she found out.

10. Well, ole Katie needs to be HOWELLED!!!
I refer to the email campaign that took off against the WAPO "ombudsman" (term used lightly) after she tried to pull the same shit. She finally corrected her error in a column, but spent most of her column inches whining about how people were "mean" to her. I couldn't resist: I sent her another email for her collection, stating that if she couldn't take the heat, she needs to leave the kitchen. And that I found her whining both self-serving and childish....

Time to go after the Today crew the same way, and demand to know on just what later date we should tune in to hear Katie correct the record.... Easy address, too: Today@NBC.com

19. I did it as well--I think the more we "Howell" about this crap, the better
It sure got some attention at the WAPO, the management forced the ombudsman to correct the record. It just takes a certain level of critical mass to make them respond.

12. Check into it and report later?
Let's see, Dean has been saying that on how many news shows in the past 2 weeks? Saying exactly what he said today and now they are going to 'check it out'? Why didn't they 'check it out' after the first 5 or 6 times he said it? Such bullshit reporting by Corp. media.

18. Couric only thinks of her tax break
Edited on Thu Jan-26-06 08:09 AM by insane_cratic_gal
I have to guess it must be substantially higher under chimpy.

Plus she's a tool, media still believes they warped into 9/11 mind set. I guess they aren't reading the polls.

One thing the right is better at then we are, is the media blitz and expressing how pissed off they are with Couric for challenging the President. They are good at trying to shame people into getting what they want. We just need to be better at it.

21. I am still cautious about claiming "not one dime"
I am not as fervent as other posters or Dean that all Dems are clean. They are still pols and therefore have a genetic tendency towards sleaze and corruption. I tend to think that one or two Dems will be found out, but that the number of Repukes will vastly outnumber them. Even if its only one, it will become "bipartisan" and therefore ignored by the public. If my fears are correct, his hard line statements will come back to haunt us.

22. Agreed.
With all the Tribal money that was out there it is almost impossible to say that "not one dime" went to the Democrats. You know how the media works, eventually some odd ball situation will arise where some low level 1st term Democrat rep got a small donation...and the Media will hold it up and say "Dean is a liar!"
