Dems need to strike back
I watched Cafferty's government special, and yes it was flawed with Crowley, etc. One of the comments by a citizen (I think) was about the Dems not striking back. I'm sure our people do and most of it is edited out or ignored by the corporate media. However, there are instances when it's very difficult or impossible for the media to ignore or edit out the Dems. Politics is a war for minds and propaganda (accurate or not) is part of it. We need to correct the public's perceptions as much as possible. I know I can't do it. That's why I'll never go into politics. I'm sure most of our people are strong enough to do it. Why it does not happen, is either extremely skillful editing/ignoring by the corporate media or blackmail by the GOP. I have no other ideas why not. I hope we're just edited out and ignored.

1. I think the problem right now is that we haven';t nationalized this
election, and our opponents have. They are running on the "we hate clinton and pelosi" strategy and we are running hundreds of seperate races. I think that was Deans choice - and I can see the wisdom in some of what he is doing, but it does make us look a little powerless just now.

2. You know...that's a concept that can be built upon..
think of it--the Rs base themselves upon the idea of less & smaller government. What they have ended up doing is building a monster that is out of control! Dean and the Democratic party are actually focusing on each race and every state individually. We are more "de-centralized" than any Republican ever thought about being! lol How ironic. How hypocritical is the R party right now in more ways than one. We could play this back to them as it is clearly a fact!

3. How?
We need to correct the public's perceptions as much as possible.

Yes, but how?

I know I can't do it. That's why I'll never go into politics.

Same here.

I'm sure most of our people are strong enough to do it.

By "our people", do you mean our elected representatives? Very few of them have that ability,
and the MSM is very careful not to let any of them near a microphone, ever.

Why it does not happen, is either extremely skillful editing/ignoring by the corporate
media or blackmail by the GOP.

With all of the NSA wiretap data at their disposal, the blackmail possibilities are endless.

I have no other ideas why not. I hope we're just edited out and ignored.

We have been getting edited out and ignored for almost six years now.

4. We Have Too Many Issues
It's easy to run a "nationalized" or "focused" campaign when you only have one or two talking points to go from. Democrats have too much to pick from, to run on and no golden megaphone or bully pulpit to scream it from.

Of course Sweet-table Dolce was spewing the talking points. She's a lazy reporter and always has been.

Democrats are not perfect. The problem is Democrats are more human and aren't monolithic. The corporate media always likes the herd mentality.
