6. He read off a LITANY of the worst, most egregious foreign policy |
|
fiascoes that we've suffered since the invasion began, including calling the dismantling of the Iraqi army the single worst foreign policy mistake in US HISTORY!
I don't remember how many horrible things "Hume" ticked off, but they were worded in a way that could have been lifted from the pages of ANY hard-core progressive site, if you get my drift.
wait til you see a transcribed version of the questions. they'd be a wet dream of what those here would love to see asked of Bush by the WH Press CorpsE every day, and in similar density, because they were extremely hard hitting, as well as appallingly sad, in a way.
what made it extraordinary was the uncomfortable laughter after questions that to do with the SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND Iraqi deaths (!!). stuff like that, amazingly, and the audience was laughing a little at some of it, very 'inappropriately,' because of the hideous nature of what was being discussed. somebody who can express this better than I am will make this point, but when you see/read the questions, you'll know exactly what I mean.
one thing, though. I thought Darrell Hammond looked more like a thinner Al Gore than Britt Hume. Too bad they didn't give him some Sharpei makeup; some folds along his jowl lines/neck.

7. nervous laughter, I think after the Iraqi stats... |
|
God, if that skit didn't just make you want to absolutely HATE GWB, I don't know what would... While his reaction (non-reaction, really) to all these horrendous statistics was exaggerated slightly, it differs from the real moron-in-chief, only in lacking sanctimonious spin and occasional flares of indignent anger...

8. there was other laughter, and what killed me was that these questions |
|
were ALL perfectly legitimate, precisely worded excoriations of Bush junta malfeasance in every instance. I was thinking of Russert asking these Qs, and the behind the scenes guys at MTP breaking out in laughter, cause they'd be so surprised to see them all asked, machine-gun-like, all in a row.
and if you've heard his answers to Bill OReilly's questions of the other day, you'd wish they'd just played that thing. Sam Seder did a great 'analysis' of some of those questions the other day, including the bit where OR asked him why ''60% of Americans are against the war.'' Bush's answer, that they want us to win, was followed by another question, which produced a series of incomprehensible stutters, stammers, hems and haws, bracketed around nonsensical answers. it was truly appalling, and I thought of that as I watched Forte (Bush) just giving in to Hume in brief acknowledgements.
now, where's that weed?

9. Yeah, I heard Seder's audio clips... |
|
God, the hemming, hawing, and stammering were something to behold, weren't they?
Damn, I was just thinking about the "weed." Nope, don't have any, but since it is on the CO ballot and already technically legal in Denver, the thought has certainly occurred to me... I wish....

I've not even been around pot since college, but if someone came out with a study that showed it would turn you into a GWB, my heavens, I'd be going door to door to stop distribution! LOL
God, that is a horrendous pic of Bush*...
As Amy Poler said tonight on SNL, "Colorado or bust!" Wow, if we turn totally blue AND pass a pot decriminalization referendum, the tide really will have turned...!

12. hahaah....you've seen the study that said that THC, the good part of |
|
pot, is the ingredient that appears to yield great promise in staving off
ALZHEIMER's! what could be funnier than that?
and the bush pic is a shopjob that takes one side of his face and superimposes on the other side, to yield the illusion of perfect symmetry
just about anyone's picture will yield bizarre results that way, but this one supposedly shows the side of his face (left, I guess) controlled by the right side of whatever consisist of his brain, apparently the side in which resides the crazy.
