"Presidential Prayer Team" is in an online PRAY THE VOTE frenzy!
You are supposed to sign up for their "Online Prayer Rally" and tell them at which hour of the day/time zone you will pray and for what duration (up to one hour!!)... praying that "Godly leaders" are elected. I am truly concerned their heads are going to explode because the "godliest" leaders are bound to be other than Republican!

=====

16 days remain until the elections...Pray for Americans to get informed on candidates and issues, praying for God's guidance as they prepare to vote...Pray for godly leaders to be elected on November 7!

3. What will happen if a Democrat gets elected in 2008?
Will they support the President, or mysteriously close down their website until a Republican gets back in office?

So don't drive in rush hour traffic in the South between November 2008 and January 2009.

5. Prayer? W has shown us what a religion/politics mix does
Look at the hundreds of thousand innocent Iraqis. If I were a believer, I would pray that no religious person bragging about their religiosity would ever be elected again.

12. LOL! I bought the Pres. Prayer Team gift set as a "Gag" gift for my son..
...two years ago at Christmas.

One of the funniest things about it was the series of discount stickers from $14.99 to 99 cents.

Again this was TWO years ago. And this is the SOUTH.

A good sign not many were buying the BS even then.

13. Pray for a Blue America?
What is their position on the godliness of House leaders in light of the page scandal and other transgressions? Presumably they must all be replaced.

And also... when did pray become an active verb?

and gonna pray they all get raptured on Nov 6th.

Besides, if everything is pre-ordained and 'God's Will', can't they just stay home and let him take care of it?

18. Very well.
"Dear God. Today we come to You in prayer asking that You would cast Satan out of his stronghold in Washington, D.C. We beseech Thee, do not hold back Your righteous judgment on the Republican Party. We ask that You would begin pouring out Your judgment on the wicked Republican Party and its leaders. Let them receive the punishment that is coming to them in accordance with their wickedness. Send Your angels to trip them up at every move. Let the evil and wickedness that all Republican Party politicians have done come to light and be known far and wide throughout the land, O Lord, as You have already done with Foley, DeLay, Cunningham, Ney, Allen, and the Abu Ghraib prison. Let the wickedness and hypocrisy of every other Republican politician be exposed. Let Thy Will be done and make Your light to shine in the dark recesses where the wicked ones do their evil deeds. We pray that You would tarry no further, and would put an end to this cancer on our body politic known as the Republican Party. For they are liars, thieves, murderers, adulterers, hypocrites and worse. Let the Republicans collapse under the righteous onslaught of Your Holy Spirit.

"We also ask that You would send Your angels to protect the good, decent candidates of the Democratic Party. Defend all Democrats from the lying deeds of Satan and his "Swift Boat Vets" tactics. Let Your Holy Spirit sweep the nation so that truth prevails and the lying ones are left exposed as the liars and hypocrites they are. Let Your angels surround and defend all Democrats running for office, especially Jim Webb, Sherrod Brown, Jon Tester, Bob Casey, Ned Lamont, and Harold Ford, but all other Democrats running for office as well. If there is any area where any of these people is not acting in accordance with Your will, we pray that you would gently nudge them to repentance, while at the same time bringing them to victory at the polls. O Lord, we beseech Thee to send Your Holy Spirit to move in the hearts of voters to carry out Your will at the polls, to bring good and decent Democrats to victory, and to carry out Your judgment on the Republicans. We ask that You would send Your angels to protect the polling places from vote fraud. We ask that You would protect the votes of every single one of these Your little ones, and make sure that every vote is counted. We ask that You would send Your Holy Spirit to move in the hearts of the apathetic non-voters, and send them to the polls to vote Democratic. We ask that Your angels would protect the paths of everybody going to the polls to vote Democratic, and would trip up the paths of everybody going to the polls to vote Republican. Send storms, bad weather, and traffic jams to places where Satan has a particularly strong Republican-voting stronghold.

"All this we ask in the name of Your son. AMEN"

There. I just "Prayed the Vote". Is this what they had in mind?

If Jesus saves -- well, He'd better save Himself
from the gory glory seekers who use His name in death.

21. That's the ticket, Republicans...
Going to the polls is for heathens and sinners. Godly Americans will stay home with their families and pray on Election Day. It's the only way to elect true Godly leaders to office.

22. But how will we ever know who "won?"
As a Christian, I'll be praying for pretty much everything on that list, as I always do. (I tend to skip over the "godly and righteous" leader bit, because people who act too godly and righteous tend to annoy me. I pray more for moral and compassionate leaders. And isn't that godly, really?)
However, I have a feeling that I'm imagining different outcomes in my head when I'm praying than when fundies pray this same prayer.

But we'll never know whose prayers were answered, will we? Worrying too much about praying "your side" into office is like watching your team's football game knowing you can't view the fourth quarter, or playing Scrabble knowing you'll never be allowed to add up points. Kind of entertaining, kind of satisfying, but in the end, EVERYBODY is a little self-concious because they might be the loser, and at the same time, EVERYBODY thinks they've won just because they're convinced of their own superiority.
