Cut and run from Bush
It's been a long time since the righties have actually defended the Iraq war. The typical cut-and-run-from-Bush rightie now seems to say something like the war was a good idea, but it was handled badly. (For an example of this type of thinking, see:

http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/...ain/index.html.)

But, come on, remember their touting mission accomplished, celebrations in the streets of Baghdad, the appointment of a new government, elections, the trial of Saddam Hussein, and so on. Turns out that those things were just footnotes among a host of tactical errors.

But, who is responsible for those errors? Did they err in believing Bush was the man for the job? Do they wish they joined the liberal establishment and called for Rumsfeld's ouster? Do they wish they joined Kerry's call for more troops? Or do they think that Bush and his legions didn't have the balls to stand up against the likes of Cindy Sheehan? If so, why were these men so weak? Or maybe they think the war is playing out just fine? Maybe they like the idea of another Vietnam? Maybe they believe the women and children of Iraq deserve to live in constant fear? Or maybe they now believe that the Iraq war was a mistake?
