Bush uses gay rights flag as backdrop for ABC interview
by John in DC - 10/22/2006 01:24:00 PM

Someone in the White House has clearly decided to send out the silent code that "gay is okay" right before the election. It is very difficult to believe that all of this is just coincidence.

Here's Bush with the flag behind him:

Then again, it's not like the Bush administration, including the White House, isn't full of gays - so perhaps the pink mafia strikes again. (Anyone see George Allen's staff, or the RNC, doing any last minute decorating on the set before Bush spoke?).

PS In all fairness to Bush, it's possible this isn't the gay rights flag at all. It may simply be the PACE flag ("Peace" in Italian) used by opponents of the war in Iraq.

1. seriously?
now why would he do that? Have they done anything to further gay rights or to show any support for the gay community?

2. The flag is a little box with a red 'x' in the middle of it?
That's all I get.

7. It's missing a color
The Pride flag also has a purple stripe under the blue stripe (or, on the "flag" in this picture, on the left side.)

9. Looks like a decoration that's just part of the place for
the interview.

Or we have to conclude there's also a subliminal bid to get the NASCAR vote and the ever burgeoning chess and checkers crowd.

I can't make sense of the decor.
