He is right you know - John Kerry that is
I've been thinking of Iraq and what the US diplomat said about the US administration coming across as stupid and arrogent. Given that he is a mediator of a sort--it is obvious why he would say such a thing. Firstly--to admit some wrongdoing in order to bring elements to the table for negotiations. That is what a negotiator does. It makes total sense to me. I've been hearing it over and over again on the radio this morning.

And then I read an interview with John Kerry. The only solution now possible is to foster a pro-Iraq Iraq. And as long as Maliki is seen as a pro US stooge--the fighting will continue. And the only way to force the Iraqi's to take matters into their own hands is to have timetable for withdrawel. There is absolutely no way that there will ever be a pro-US Iraq. Admit it, get over it, and move on. The best case scenario now is that Iraq can become secure and peaceful--but ultimately it will be pro-middle east--not pro-US. That is the best hope you and the world has right now. If the Iraqi's want to partition Iraq into three distinctive ethnic parts-then let them. It is up to them now. There is no military solution to this quagmire.

And it would go a long long ways towards credibility of the greatness of American Justice--that George W. Bush be tried and convicted of war crimes. (But hey - maybe I am being a bit vindictive....over 500 000 dead souls tell me not)
