A hypothetical question
What if the world as a whole decided that the Bush* Administration was Fascist and Imperialistic and decided to ban together to stop the USA. War was declared and I mean "real war" not some made up thing like we have now. Would you fight for the USA no matter "my country right or wrong" or would you aid and assist the other worldly powers that wanted to stop the US from it's rape and pillage of the world? Or would you just hunker down and wait til it was over and hope for the best. Suppose this scenario were to play out and Bush* brought back the draft, would you go or allow your son or daughter to be drafted into the war? I feel I am as patriotic or more so than any other American but I am a Patriot to the US Constitution and not to Republican Control. I would be in a real dilema...The Republicans have succeeded in dividing America to consolidate their own personal power at the loss of American Power. Remember "United we stand, divided we fall" I hope this could never become a reality but things are escalating at a very rapid pace...I would find it very difficult to take up arms against another American but I would not come to their defense either if they back the current fascist American attitude.

2. I wouldn't fight for Bush, but I wouldn't fight against the US
Edited on Thu Jan-26-06 09:35 AM by ComerPerro
To me, the world banding together to stop Bush isn't the same as a nation or group of nations trying to invade and take over our country. So I wouldn't feel obligated to defend America as though this were an invasion.

If they tried to occupy, then I would take objection.

EDIT for clarification: I wouldn't invade another country to keep Bush in power, won't leave the US. But I might consider fighting here, if it became necessary. Not to defend Bush, just to hold off any invading force.

3. take objection to invasion and occupation
you're darn tootin' about that.

Which is why I find it so unfathomable that people here can't seem to understand why the Iraqis are so pissed at us for doing just that to them.

7. The Iraqi resistance is not acting out of love for Saddam...
I hate Bush's guts but would not be happy with invasion & occupation.

6. Its hard to say, and it depends on the situation of this war
Honestly, I don't even think I would have been in Germany if I were a German in the 1940s.

8. I don't think they would be against the USA...they appear to be unhappy,
along with us, at the current regime. I would tend to look at it from a historical perspective. France came to our aid in the first Revolution...The world will come to our aid in the next Revolution...i hope.

9. They don't need to have a 'real war' ... an economic one will do
It would be much simpler and I dare say much more effective.

To answer the question though... there is a possiblity of another civil war here given how polarized people are. I don't like the idea of blood and guts fighting with fellow Americans, but I would fight for the Constitution if it came to that. I don't like the idea of foreign intervention though. I would definitely be a member of the 'insurgency' if the world powers didn't go away promptly after ridding us of BushCo.
