SOTU to push Bush Health Insurance Scam
State of Bush's Secret Health Care Scam (1 comments )
READ MORE: George W. Bush
President Bush told the Wall Street Journal in an interview published today that he would be pushing "innovative programs" like "association health care plans" in his state of the union address. Take note of the term. The Bush-adopted "Association health plan" racket has been one of the biggest scams ever perpetrated against patients in the United States, and that takes into account the attrocities committed by HMOs against their patients.

Bush's solution to the nation's health care woes is insurance that offers no insuring.

Here's how the association health plan fraud works. Patients who are insured by these low-premium junk policies can wind up owing hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills. That's right -- an insured patient in the United States can wind up paying unlimited amounts for serious medical conditions. That's because these skeletal benefit policies have no out-of-pocket maximum for how much you have to pay for your own treatment. But there is a limit on how much the insurers will pay for a whole range of treatments, from hospitalization to chemo.

3. They'll have to settle for transparent lies
The only thing going for Bush is a dipstick shoring up the stock market with a temporary decrease in gas prices. everytthing else is a bust to put it mildly. His most dramatic assertions would have to be in the form of a challenge directed against the weatching public on the wiretapping, the Osama fear campaign, the busted domestic agenda, the shamnbles in the Mideast, the upcoming war with Iran.

If I were the loon in charge, even an idiot, I would make this a medicore exercise in feel good chutzpah and spare no glossing, omit no omission and not go into the landmine field. After all, if he can do what he wants what good is slapping America in the face out of that residual fear he will be called out? It's only a speech. Cut the losses and slide baby slide. Speeches never save Bush, event opportunism does.
