Democracy in the Middle East : Hamas Wins !!!!!
The best laid plans of mice and men and men that are mice. We wanted democracy. That's why we invaded Iraq. So we get "democracy". But it's not the type of "democracy" we wanted. Unfortunately, we will not get the type of democracy we want in Iraq either. Another failure.

2. Guess it really is not "democracy" we want, eh?
If a govt anywhere is elected democratically...and that govt does not kiss ass to the empire, then that democratically elected govt is labelled "terrorist"...this is really, really bad..so just when will our own dictator be called on to step down...or face his own terrorism? and it just goes on and on...and nothing happens...oh, yeah...a press conference coming soon today...our emporer will blather on about freedom and democracy..and condemn it as he speaks for it.

4. What we want is an excuse to cover the entire globe with our
influence, economic arm twisting and military power. We have achieved that goal, now watch us go.

3. It's only "democracy" when "our guys" win.
I've been listening to the handwringing all morning on NPR. "What went wrong?", "What should we have done to keep Hamas off the ballot?" "What do we do now?"

It seems the Palestinians didn't read the script.

7. I Thought That This Morning While Watching Washington Journal
I told my wife "So, we're championing free elections in the middle east, but we don't talk to Hamas because they espouse violence and terrorism. Now, in a free and fair election, Hamas, a terrorist organization, gets the vote from the people. How's that war on terrorism working out, Georgie?" My wife laughed.
