4. Why not?
When you're dying a slow miserable death, politically, does a day or two make any difference?? The symbolism seems insubstantial to me, but perhaps I'm missing something?

7. That is a possibility.
However the more time we have the more chance we have to collect the 41 votes we need. So while they might get some satisfaction from having us 'twist in the wind' it increases the risk that they look like incompetent bullying buffoons next week.
