7. Believe it or not

Bob gets real e-mails from people on both sides of the divide who think he is a real person....many more from the right than the left, thank goodness.

When I first started doing the column, a right wing loony from the Delphi boards, where I also post, actually wrote an e-mail to DU to warn them that Bob wasn't a real conservative, but a liberal posing as a conservative to fool people.

9. My favorite

is Daniel Vovic, the guy who was running against Alan Keyes for the Illinois Senate last year...who claimed to be living in his car (Ground Force One) and who showed up at GOP events in a powdered wig, demanding to be heard. He still sends Bob e-mails describing what he is up to....

I've never been able to decide whether he's a kindred soul with Bob because he's a fake persona used as political theatre, or he's a kindred soul with Bob because he's a genuine 100% right wing screwloose. He's either really really good or really really nuts.
