I am so behind on the punditocracy since I pretty much stopped watching most of the news networks (barring CSPAN).
I never heard about this person till today. And looks like I didn't miss much...

6. I don't watch a whole lot of television.

But I did notice this morning in the student union that They are doing a week-long series called "Broken Government." I thought that this must be a turning point; CNN finds it more profitable to criticize the government than to defend. I watched for about ten minutes and they had nothing good to say about Bush, which is the first time I have ever seen that occur. I notice a substantial shift from their coverage in past weeks (I only watch that ten minutes after breakfast every morning.) Was I mistaken? Are they being unduly critical of the Dems?

do to get the favors Fox got. This is for real - it was discussed on DU and covered on the net. In other words, they ASKED to become Conservative NN. Name of person who went to the WH - Alterman?

8. Candy is a particularly fawning admirer of George Bush for reasons

buried in their own personal history. She is also, unfortunately, CNN's primary "political reporter" and NEVER misses an opportunity to put any and all DEMS in the worst possible light with specially selected "phrasing". Truly creepy and, IMO, makes political reporting on CNN unwatchable.

Examples:
"Candidate (DEM) slipped into the hall last night in a yet another hypocritical attempt to beg for more donations for his failing campaign"

"Candidate (GOP) strode boldly into the hall to the thunderous applause of eager supporters.

Seriously. They were cheerleading for SDI back then. They also ran favorable fluff pieces on Quayle and so forth.

It's a myth that CNN made a recent conversion to the Right. I have been watching them since 1981 when I first got cable, and I saw it happening just about the time of Iran-Contra.

16. OK, laser based SDI is not only possible, but cool...

it is this crappy missile based system that is pure bullshit. China and Russia have already tested laser that reach into space, in an attempt to blind our spy satellites, so it is not impossible to do it with a laser. But a missile is total bull crap.

I just wish they would stop wasting billions on the BS SDI, and do the one that would work.

I'm a huge fan of Ted Turner because I'm convinced that he hired Wolf Blitzer specifically to ship him off to Iraq during the Gulf War so that he would die there. Unfortunately for all of us, that plan backfired and Wolfie has a 3 hour TV show now.
