Mehlman Explains "Bimbo" Ad
By now you may have seen this exceptionally tasteful Republican National Committee ad attacking Dem Harold Ford, Jr., in which a somewhat, shall we say, crass looking young woman says: "I met Harold at the Playboy Party!"

Now RNC chair Ken Mehlman has defended the ad. According to The Hotline, Mehlman was just on MSNBC, where he said: "I don't have the authority to take it down or put it up. It's called an independent expenditure." More on this soon.

2. Oh, BS
Here's what the voiceover and blurb at the end of the ad say:

The Republican National Committee is responsible for the content of this advertisement. Paid for by the Republican National Committee and not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee. (GOP website address)

How is this an independent expenditure?

3. Mellyman needs to come out and stop hiding. Why does he hate America?
The lies of the Reich, shining like a beacon from the hateful face of the Mellyman.

Come Mr. Mellyman, tally me banana!

Daylight come and I want to go home.

Come Mr. Mellyman, tally me banana!

Daylight come and I want to go home.

Six hand, seven hand, eight hand, launch!

Daylight come and I want to go home.

Mellyman, he come check the bunch!

Daylight come and I want to go home.

7. I heard Joe Scarborough earlier tonight on MSNBC, and even he said it's
blatantly racist. I actually expected him to deny it, considering he's very mainstream nutso league, right-wing Republican.

6. The only Bimbo in this scenario is Mehlman.
Give it up, Ken, or the DNC might want to retaliate with some "independent expenditure" ads featuring Jeffy Gannon/Guckert.

12. Thanks.
Yep, very subtle there. There's that fear factor again. "Black men are goanna steal our white women." Actually, they don't have to steal them. A lot of those republican men are closet gays. :)

13. Just watched it.
The crass blonde claiming she met Harold Ford, Jr at the Playboy mansion. Personally, she doesn't look like Playboy material. She doesn't look like Tennesee Titan or Dallas Cowboy cheerleader material.
