Repubs talk a lot about ideology, self-defense, using power to make us safer and stronger, but in the end it all comes down to "money"

The money that can be made in supplying both sides with arms, servicing our side in conflicts like Iraq & Afghanistan, rewarding their friends who get the no-bid contracts, taking over the public assets and raiding the public treasury. Oh and don't forget every tax cut for the richest 1% is the
same thing as receiving cold hard cash for them, and increasing the obligation of every other living working American.

It attributes to Republicans in power a higher calling than they deserve to say they are ideologues. It is, has been, and will continue to be all about the wealth that can be attained by wielding the power they have usurped.

If we intend to do more than win one election, we will need to attack them where they are vulnerable. WE need to root out the corrupt methods they use to maintain illicit revenue streams which bankroll their continued hold on power. Follow the money, disrupt the flow of money, and eventually they will lose power. Cut the direct revenue streams from the energy, banking, and pharmaceutical industries, and you will see immediate results.

It will likely be the hard work in the trenches that eventually brings about the change we all desparately need. The exposure of corrupt financial practices in everything from bribery to campaign contributions to corporate deregulation. It all props up the present climate of corruption and exploitation of the America we live in today.

If we do not take away their money, they will be back after the next election ....even harder to kill off. Think about it....

2. Not the Lobbyist, Outlaw Lobbyist giving anything of value.... And

require weekly full financial disclosure of every lobbyist's expenses and income sources.

It is the sunshine of transparency that is needed to clean up government. Imagine for a moment if the above were enacted. Every lobbyist on Capitol Hill would be clearly identified with the party he represents, and there would be no overt/covert gifts of anything of value to a Congressman by any lobbyist or they both go to jail.

In order to root out the covert corrupt money influence, we have to enact public financing of all campaigns .... which would prohibit the direct giving of any campaign contributions to any Congressional candidate -- and if any was given or accepted, they both go to jail.

Let the Lobbyists plead their case like the rest of us, just deprive them of their greatest weapon --the money.

AS a final firewall, require every member of Congress to publicly disclose the amount and source of all income received every year they are a member of Congress. IF they do not want to do this, fine,...go find another job. There are bound to be plenty of smart intelligent individuals that will take the job at $165,000 plus perks each year who will gladly disclose that information.

******As an aside.... it will be interesting to see if this thread gets any attention since most Dem activists fail to understand that this is the Republicans's biggest vulnerability.****
