Report finds sex always on men's minds
Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 06:02 AM by Gman
NEW YORK, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Researchers at the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction at Indiana University say most men are always thinking of sex.

A study released Tuesday in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Scientists found 54 percent of men and 19 percent of women admit they think about sex every day -- or several times a day -- in a society where they are bombarded with subconscious erotic images.

Scientists at the University of Minnesota found sexy subliminal images competed for attention in the brain even when the images were not right before a subject's eyes and most people are not consciously aware of them, ABC News reported.

7. not to be crude, but men masturbate (and have intercourse) so they don't
have to think about sex all the time.

A man is not thinking about sex after he has an orgasm, at least until it's time for another orgasm, at which point he thinks about sex.

9. "in a society where they are bombarded with subconscious....
erotic images." there's your important sentence. and i would add "conscious" and "in your face" images all the frigging time. it's just the corporations trying to turn us into a nation of idiots and to keep our minds on other things while they strip us bare of everything that matters.

and i wouldn't call thinking about sex once a day or a few times a day "all the time".

25. THANK YOU!
Plus let's throw out the notion about this half of those surveyed once of day out of how many thousands of thoughts you have a day?

And let's ignore that the fact that it is "admitted to." Should we be surprised that men are more likely to admit that than women are given the cultural attitudes about sexual thoughts for men versus women?

For comparison, you could also have a study where 54% of women think of buying something at least once a day - thus "Women think about shopping all the time!" Which I imagine would actually evoke a more realistic and properly critical assessment of this "story."

17. I think this IS news.... if it is seen correctly......!
Men are always thinking about sex? Then what, pray tell me, makes them better leaders than women? What makes them more able to tend to matters of state, war & peace, poverty, and the welfare of humanity... (that red button)... if all they have on their minds is the next schtump? Think about it.

It's just further proof that women should rule the world.

Am I right or am I right?

40. Went through a ten year period
of doing it about once a year. I decided to let her make the next move and went four years without any. Due to jobs we live apart at the moment and see each other maybe twice a year. No sex in the past three years. Of course it didn't hurt when I over heard her say to a friend "Rick is the nicest guy in the world, but I don't really think of him sexually" (This was about 20 years ago) I keep my self in good physical shape, good hygiene don't drink or smoke. And I'm always ready. I love her dearly but resigned myself to a celibate life.

41. Last night a married man with kids in van, was ogling my 14 year old..
No one needs to spend a dime to tell me that sex is always on a man's mind. Do people actually waste time studying that?

As far as the jerk in the mini van... my daughter and I were coming out of the store last night. A man sat in a minivan with his two children in the back, waiting for his wife. My daughter had her volleyball uniform on, which is shorts and a sweatshirt. I got a vibe right away and noticed him staring at her legs and butt as she was walking to the car and getting in.... he looked up at me with this sheepish grin and I wanted to slug him. I mentioned it to my daughter, and she was like.. "OMG I got a vibe immediately when I came out the door, that he was staring at me, and I was thinking god, he's looking at my butt as I'm getting in! GROSS!!!!"

And I doubt women have a far lower incidence. I can't even imagine a day when I don't think about sex at least ONCE. As Lenny Bruce once said, guy in the hospital, having his leg amputated, and he's making a play for the nurse at the same time.
