2. What makes you so sure that all donations were done in his name or
in the public record? Dems are still pols and therefore have a genetic tendency towards sleaze and corruption. I tend to think that one or two Dems will be found out, but that the number of Repukes will vastly outnumber them. If my fears are correct, hard line statements about how no Dem took any money linked to him will come back to haunt us.

This is a Republican scandal. Period. End of story.

Yes, the Tribes have given money to Dems for years! Those donations have nothing to do with this scandal. Think about it, if Abramoff wanted the Tribes to donate to a specific group, he would have had them go through him! Why would he suggest anything different? He can't get a cut by telling them to donate directly! Nothing in it for him = he wouldn't do it. Greed is what got this going; there is no greed in asking them to donate to someone else on their own.
