The NewsHour: Amb. Peter Galbraith on Iraq options last night: Already broken up.
He said Iraq is already broken up. The Kurds have their own govt already and have banned the Iraqi flag there, etc. The Central Govt in Baghdad has no ability to tax and rule and really govern. The Shiites in the south have their own Iranian style govt that won't be ruled by Baghdad. And central Iraq is immersed in civil war. (Cheney tried to sell civil war as a Gettysburg, Antietam type of conflict, which is absurd (NPR this morning to Juan Williams.)

I think this is worth reading or listening to.

and was impressed with the way he laid it out and was pretty convincing to me.
