CNN just cut away from Iraqi Prime Minister rejecting "benchmarks"
Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 11:10 AM by Webster Green
I'm curious if this happened on the CNN network or locally. The guy was cut off in mid-sentence, but it was clear what he was trying to say.

2. He was contradicting what the chimp just said to the press..
Instant real-time censorship of the news.

Rove must have a TeeVee director's console at his desk.

3. That kind of sour news makes people frustrated, advertisers
don't like frustrated viewers.

4. It's pretty obvious that PM is not on the same page as the chimp..
I think it's an outrage. CNN should be called on this one.

7. That prime minister isn't a "team player". I think he won't be there
much longer. They don't even include him when Casey makes Iraqi government policy statements.

5. According to the NPR report I just heard...
Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 11:23 AM by theHandpuppet
The Iraqi Prime Minister was very angry at BushCo for a couple of things this morning; one was a raid (I didn't catch the details) conducted by U.S. forces and the other was Bush's demand for a timetable for peace (ie, between the Iraqi factions). The Prime Minister said no one has the right to dictate a "timetable of peace" to Iraq.

Anyway, that's all I caught -- I was engaged in some work and didn't catch the details. You'll probably have to go to an online site to find the real news.

8. They led a big attack in Sadr City, dropped bombs, etc.
Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 11:28 AM by The_Casual_Observer
Supposedly they were after some kind of insurgent war lord named Abu or something.

10. If you can lie about an invasion and then lie everyday of that invasion
Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 11:38 AM by Solly Mack
and then when just how much you lied and just how bad things are going is becoming more widely known - or as in this case, better reported - then why not blame the people you invaded for all the problems?

That way you can claim - regardless of how phoney - that "you tried to help the Iraqi people" but that the "Iraqi people just refused the help", so you had to start leaving the country..because those Iraqis wouldn't "stand up so we can stand down " by meeting certain "benchmarks"

It might not be the final excuse you go with to justify your lies and crimes - but it would certainly be an option and one you'd promote to see how well it plays with the American public

So, blame the Iraqis

If you were Bush, that is

Now, if Bush regimes says Maliki needs to be replaced it's becasue Maliki doesn't want Iraq to "stand up" and he doesn't want to meet those "benchmarks" and he doesn't want to work with America...so Iraq needs a government that will
