I am amazed at the series of ads that I see after the news that amount to Booga- Booga - the Dems are in favor of criminals and sex and high taxes and sex and terrorists and sex and oh, by the way, did we mention they like sex?

1. That seems to be happening in NM
Heather Wilson (R-COW) started out in late July with a blitz campaign, airing multiple spots per hour, all of them nasty and negative. As she dropped in the polls, she started running a few ads telling us what a moderate she is (ha!). It doesn't seem to have worked.

People around here are giving every impression of being sick to death of her, and I can tell why. I tuned in for the noon weather one day last week and counted four nasty ads within 5 minutes.

There's such a thing as overkill, but the GOP doesn't seem to know any better.

2. Polite people tend to be turned off by mudslinging.
They tend to be older and more conservative, but not necessarily dictated by political affiliation.

3. Are they turned off on all politicians or just the ones doing the
slinging? If it's the former, they don't vote at all and the ad is effective. If it's the latter, the ad is counter-effective.

4. Both breeds exist, and others.
In the end, it's better to be right and able to prove it than to avoid pissing people off.

5. Negative Ads have worked, and WILL, as long as we have NEGATIVE VOTERS

6. Not a wise thing to do when there's a pissed-off electorate.
Negative and personal ads are not going to play well with voters who are already ultra-angry at the Repukes. They will play right into the Dems' hands.

Check out Ford's response to Corker's racist baiting ad. This is as good a response as I've seen and may pay off in spades for Ford.

8. Ford is black?
Not to be rude, but it seems pretty obvious this fellow has as many or mare ancestors from Europe as he does from Africa! It makes Corker's ad look even more ludicrous.

7. No
they just keep getting slimier and slimer, less and less reality-based, but with hate radio and Cabal "News" running them 24/7 uncontested, they continue to work.

you have to remember that peopl who gtes their news from hate radio and Fox news are really, really ignorant of the truth. they'll believe anything.

9. But aren't the people who listen to the hate radio actually a minority?
I though that most people are moderates who will swing back and forth as need be if they perceive their party as going to the extremes.
